The threat of an east coast low did nothing to stop the Tiger faithful from turning out in force for the second Murdoch Campbell Classic golf day at Virginia Golf Club.
The course was in fantastic condition thanks to the efforts of the Virginia team once again as the large field of participants headed out for the shot gun start under cloudy skies. As it turned out the rain never came and the overcast conditions made for a very comfortable day.
Once again the Tigers were supported by some wonderful sponsorship from Barry Nilsson Lawyers, Baxter Street Apartments, Brad Dodwell, Define Health and Fitness, EDI Freight Management, GVG Design Construct, HBM Lawyers and LRF Sport.
Always popular, the four ball format gave everyone a chance to enjoy the day with experienced players mixing it with others playing their annual game with the only real objective being to have fun and furthering the cause of the Tigers.
In addition to the sponsorship, the fundraising consisted of raffles together with nearest the pin challenges and longest drives won by Corey Massingham and Tom Ditchburn respectively.
The winning team of Luke Faulkner, Clint Brunnenmeyer, Gabe Yates and Tim MacKinley were proudly presented with their trophies by Murdoch’s son Luke Campbell in a fitting finish to another great day.
The club thanks Luke Faulkner for once again organising a very successful day and all the Tiger supporters who participated and sponsored the Murdoch Campbell Classic.
